Meet Your Wellness Support Specialist

Hi, I’m Dion, your Wellness Support Specialist.

Let me share a bit about myself.

Early Life

I was born in Palmerston North, New Zealand, and moved to Sydney, Australia, with my family when I was about five. We eventually settled in Brisbane, Queensland, where Eflowtion Support Services is based.

Childhood Challenges

My childhood was challenging, marked by adversity and misdiagnoses. Initially, I was diagnosed with Absence Seizures (Epilepsy) and Schizoaffective Disorder by a Neurologist and a Psychiatrist. Unfortunately, my treatment, managed by a family GP, often reflected the instability of my home environment, leading to drastic fluctuations in my medication levels. This approach didn’t address the root cause of my struggles.

Family Tragedy

My sister, who ran away from home to escape our unstable environment, faced her own tragic fate. She became involved with an unsavory character, and while pregnant with twin girls, she suffered a fatal heart attack due to Marfan Syndrome. I lost both my sister and the twins just weeks before they were due to be born.

Career Beginnings

I had a brief stint in Army Reserve training before working in various financial institutions. It was my old Shaolin Kung Fu teacher who suggested I explore Mental Health Support Work. I became certified in Community Services Support Work and Disability Support Work, beginning a 14-year journey on the front lines of mental health support.

Professional Experience

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse environments, from 24-hour high-support transitional homes to correctional facilities, and government continuing care units. This hands-on experience has been invaluable in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, enhancing my professional and personal development.

Personal Recovery

Later, I was re-diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) by my treating Psychiatrist, attributed to childhood trauma. An ACE’s test (Adverse Childhood Experiences) conducted by a psychologist confirmed this diagnosis. I underwent a lengthy process to reduce and eventually cease medication. An EEG retesting by a separate Neurologist revealed that my previous diagnosis of Absence Seizures was actually dissociation due to childhood trauma.

Turning Point

This journey led me to sever ties with my family of origin and end a disruptive marriage. Despite these challenges, my road to recovery has been significantly eased through the use of EFT Tapping.

EFT Tapping Certification

I became certified by Khadine Aharon, an accredited Social Worker and EFT Instructor who runs Embrace Empowerment. Since then, I’ve not only managed my own CPTSD triggers but have also helped people worldwide do the same. I’ve immersed myself in trauma recovery knowledge and practical skills, which I share on the Eflowtion Support Services YouTube channel.

Founding Eflowtion Support Services

With extensive experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions and the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, I decided to provide Independent Support Work through Eflowtion Support Services. Here, I’ve integrated my mental health support skills, trauma recovery knowledge, and personal experiences. My business continues to grow, supporting the wellness of those who have faced narcissistic abuse and mental health challenges.

I’m passionate about helping others navigate their own recovery journeys, and I look forward to supporting you to reduce, regulate and recover your awesome self!
